Artist Portfolio Hosting
WorldArtPortfolio.com will no longer be openly accepting applications for portfolio hosting. The artist portfolios hosted at WorldArtPortfolio.com will be selected from posted calls for entries. Selection will be based upon the number of points accumulated through votes cast by member adjudicators and votes cast by the public (site visitors).
Selected artists will have the opportunity to upload additional images and CV/Resume. An indicator displaying the number of times the portfolio has been viewed will also be available once logged in. Selected Artists will also automatically have a discussion in WorldArtPortfolio.com created under their name. A link from their portfolio will be provided.
Other features will be listed here as they are finalized.
Link Directory
The Link Directory hosted at WorldArtPortfolio.com will also have dramatic improvements.
New features include:
-Users may add and modify their own link (username and password will be provided via email). Duplicate, abusive, or inactive links may be flagged for admin to view/remove flag/BAN/or delete. Yes, there will also be a BAN feature to prevent repetitive misuse.
-Improved search engine allows url search & category search in addition to keyword searches.
-Users may report inactive or abusive listings
Adjudicators
It is our sincere hope that the use of member adjudicators for artist portfolio selection will help to maintain the high quality of artist portfolios exhibited at WorldArtPortfolio.com .
The votes cast by adjudicators will be counted separately from those cast by the general public while processing closed calls. That is not to say that the votes cast by the public are held in less regard, but it allows a comparison to take place and adds validity to the process by preventing spamming of the voting engine.
Adjudicators will also add to the validity of the site via their own qualifications. Most, if not all Adjudicators chosen will have at least one art related college level degree, have a level of experience creating and exhibiting art, and/or have a level of experience at judging/critiquing art.
Applicants selected as Adjudicators will have added membership benefits - to be listed at another time.
This document will be updated periodically as development continues and features/plans finalize.
We are currently looking forward to a January 2005 release date.
Several improvements and added value features are planned for subsequent dates.
